In this 2 hour inversion and arm balance workshop hosted at Yoga on Kibby led by Mirian and Kate we will study yoga asanas (poses) such as headstand, handstand, forearm balancing, bakasana (crow) plus more, and the various tools and techniques to get you there and keep you safe while in posture.
We will cover:
- the role of alignment, bandhas, and breathing techniques used in these various poses
the misconception that “core” strength is needed for these asanas. (Spoiler: it’s not.)
-how to safely come in and out of inversions
-preparatory postures for inversions starting from the ground up
-the art of falling on your face (safely)
Class is $30. Please arrive a few minutes early if you are new to the studio.
Come on an empty stomach/ refrain from eating at least 2 hours prior to class or eat light.
Last but not least, come with an open mind and sense of humor!
